All Elite Wrestling was announced  New Year’s day, as a consolidation and progression from the All In event held last year, with Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks pulling off the first 10,0000+ crowd wrestling crowd in recent history.

Here’s a video of the live stream of their rally yesterday, firming up their plans for a Double or Nothing vent, and the start of their own promotion.

The stand out moment for me has to be Chris Jericho announcing he’s All In.

As someone who has been having some of the performances of his career in New Japan Pro Wrestling over the last year, and a recent superb run in WWE prior to that, this is an excellent signing in terms of quality and bringing attention to the product.

I look forwards to hearing more on his thoughts on this on future Talk Is Jericho podcasts.

Other interesting points from the rally include

  • There will be a ladies division, with equal pay to the men
  • OWE (Oriental Wrestling Entertainment) of China will be involved
  • Hangman Page and PAC (Neville in WWE) involved

2019 is shaping up to be an exciting time for professional wrestling, with more choices and options seeming to me to be good for the business as a whole, especially with the money and profile that Shad Khan bring to the table.
